Something Red

Are you ready?  It is time for "R" at ABC Meme.  So we will look for "r" words and something Red.  Like the flowers out at Butchart Gardens right now.  It is so wonderful there. The tulips are really ready for us.

Spirit Pole and Q Things

 I find that there are not many Q words or pictures and it is hard to do. But I was not going to quit in my quest for "Q" words for the ABC Meme. So above here we have the Spirit Pole at the Quw'utsun' Cultural and Conference Center in Duncan, B.C. The pole was made to honour the Cowichan 2008 Indigenous Games.  The pole traveled over 10,000 km and was carved by 11,599 people in 52 communities in B.C.  The frog is in the front of the pole and he helps everyone take a step forward.  He has a smile for all of us as well.  There are a quadruple of  salmon above the frog, they swim in a stream representing the hard work it takes to be positive and move forward.  The Master Carver of the pole was Carey Newman.

I moved a while ago and it was a difficult move for me.  It was not far from the other location but was more inland from the ocean. This week is "p" week at ABC so will toss a few of those here and there. I will post about Panama Flats.
